Now we have ArKit and ArCore, what before?

Apple got ArKit (Metaio), Google got ArCore. And they will make AR popular on smart phones. But what is before these.

Last year, after I quited my job in China and before I came to New Zealand. I tried to migrate a 3d game to an AR game and used the Virtual Button, an awesome way to intereact with virtual and real objects in Vuforia.

AR Penalty

In 2015, I made my first AR game demo AR Penalty.

A not really good or fun game, but it is my popularest project on github. What playes do is control the angel and speed to shoot.

How to

  1. Print the target picture
  2. Put the play ground picture on your desktop
  3. Stand up
  4. Hold your phone (for now it is only supported Android, other oses in the fulture), to the ground picture
  5. Start Gaming (swipe to shoot)
