I joined the Quantitacs Q22 and Q23 competitions. My algorithm placed 7th in Q22 and won a $50,000 USD allocation. During the first quarter of live trading, the algorithm generated an 8% return with a Sharpe ratio of over 2. It placed second among all seven. The first quarter payout supposed to happen by end of September 2025, however, when I contacted the support team about the payout recently, I received no response.
Quantiacs was one of crowdsource hedge fund platform, I have started to notice its exist in 2024 (Q22 Contest), the 2 screenshots below are the contest result and live trading result.
Clearly I have won a small amount of profit and based on what they declare, I supposed to receive about 400 USD because it generated about 4000 USD profit in the first 3 months live trading.
Investigation
I have done some basic investigation on the platform now, there are a few Suspicions.
- Very low active community, and they have only online email support and they have been silent to me since end of September.
- The previous CEO (Martin Froehler) has left, and the new CEO is unknown.
- Competition keeps running, but there are no marketing content and prize sharing on social media.
- Reddit Subreddit shutdown years ago.
However, I was foolish to simply trust what they said in the prize pool rules. I contributed about 20 strategies to their platform.
Summary
There is no public information for this company of how it is going now, and no Search Engine or AI result for it, I hope this article can help people to know more about this platform, and it seems like Quantiacs no longer communicate with users or pay out. Do not use it.
